Validations and Certifications

Validations are certifications or eligibility requirements that players must hold to participate in certain tournaments. Examples include:

  • Annual sports license or federation membership
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Age group certification
  • Level or rank certification

How validations work

  1. An administrator creates validation types for your community (e.g., "2025 Federation License").
  2. Validated players are marked as holding that certification.
  3. Tournament categories (Valids) can require specific validations for registration. Players without the required certification cannot register or are flagged during approval.

Creating a validation type

  1. Go to Dashboard → Validations (Validaciones).
  2. Click Create validation.
  3. Fill in:
    • Name — e.g., "2025 Annual License" or "Medical Certificate"
    • Description — what this certification proves or represents
    • Icon — a visual indicator shown on player profiles
  4. Save.

The validation type is now available to assign to players.

Assigning a validation to a player

  1. Go to Dashboard → People and open the player's profile.
  2. Find the Validations or Certifications section.
  3. Click Add validation.
  4. Select the validation type.
  5. Optionally fill in any custom fields required by that validation (e.g., license number, expiration date).
  6. Save.

The player now shows as validated for that certification. This is visible on their profile and in the People directory filter.

Requiring validations for tournament registration

When creating or editing a tournament category (Valid):

  1. Open the category settings.
  2. Find the Required validations option.
  3. Select which validations a player must hold to register.
  4. Save.

Players without the required validation will be unable to self-register or will be flagged during manual review.

Filtering by validation status

In the People directory, use the validation status filter to quickly identify:

  • Players who have a specific certification
  • Players who are missing a required certification

This is useful before opening registrations to identify players who may need to renew their license or submit a missing document.

Validation custom fields

Each validation type can have custom fields to capture additional information specific to that certification (e.g., certificate number, issuing authority, expiration date). These are configured when creating the validation type.
