Generating Draws and Brackets

The draw is the structure that determines how players face each other throughout the competition. Torneos MVP generates brackets automatically based on the number of confirmed players and their seed positions.

Prerequisites

  • At least some players must be in Approved status for the category.
  • Seeds should be assigned if you want seeded placement (see Registrations).

Generating the draw

  1. Open your tournament and go to Draws (Sorteos) in the side navigation.
  2. Select the category you want to generate the draw for.
  3. Click Generate draw or Create bracket.
  4. The system places players according to their seed positions.
  5. Review the result.
  6. Confirm and save.

What gets generated

FormatResult
Group StagePlayers distributed into groups. Match schedule within each group is generated.
KnockoutA bracket tree showing each round (Finals, Semifinals, Quarterfinals, etc.).
CombinedBoth are generated — groups first, then the knockout bracket for advancing players.

Byes (empty bracket slots)

If the number of players does not fill the bracket perfectly (e.g., 11 players in a 16-slot bracket), the system automatically inserts byes. A player with a bye advances to the next round without playing. The highest-seeded players typically receive the byes.

Adjusting the draw manually

After generation, you can:

  • Move a player to a different position by dragging or reassigning
  • Manually assign byes to specific slots
  • Adjust group assignments

Warning: Regenerating the draw after matches have already been played will reset the bracket. Only regenerate if no matches have started.

Exporting draw materials

From the draws section you can export:
